Psalm 66: 5
"Come and see what God has done: he is awesome in his deeds toward the children of man."

September 29th: I sent out the first round of support letters by email to my church family, Providence Presbyterian. I knew I was pressed for time with an October 3rd deadline of $3,500 so email was the quickest way to get the word out. A few minutes later I had a message from one of the elders committing to $50/month and other members promising to pray for me and expressing their excitement for the journey ahead!

October 3rd: AIM extended the deadline to October 15th for me to get the $3,500 in. YAY!! So I sent out a second round of letters to local business that have known my family for years. I was pretty nervous making that first call wondering what questions they would ask me, if I'd be able to answer them, what they thought about the trip, etc. But the words God spoke to Moses, when he felt inadequate to answer God's call, came to mind:

"Now therefore go, and I will be with your mouth and teach you what you should speak." Ex 4:12

I didn't think about the words beyond that I just remembered them and it was enough to give me the courage to dial despite my fears. My courage grew as everyone I spoke to said they wanted to give something towards my trip! I was getting so E X C I T E D!

You see…..
                     ……up until this point,

I had every confidence that God could raise up the money I needed in a week I just didn't know if he would!

October 11th: I found out this morning Providence (my home church) wants to give the remaining $1,500 I need to go to training camp!
