Tomorrow my team will be going to an orphanage that houses kids with brain paralysis. Our vision
for the day is to bring as much joy, love, hope, kindness, and laughter as we can to these precious children. One way our host thought we could do that was by bringing pinatas!! (These Salvadorians know how to create a fiesta! haha) Anyway, not much was going on at the house so I jumped at the chance to explore a little more of the city with my new friends Cindy and Jenny. Little did I know what a blessing this little trip would be….
When we arrived at the pinata shop I was feeling a little left out since the girls were talking in Spanish and I wasn't catching any of it. Cindy had finished picking out everything we needed when I noticed the shop owner was looking directly at me while talking. I didn't understand a word but I knew she was trying to tell me something. I looked over at Jenny to translate and she told me the woman said, "I can see in your eyes you do not know how special you are in God's eyes. You did not come to my shop today to pick out pinatas. You came for this. These are not my words; they are from the Lord. You are so special to Him."
It was so out of the blue that I couldn't even process it right away but as I stood there thinking I realized that that was the second time someone told me something to that affect. As I write out for all of you to read it sounds cheesy but I think there is something to it…can't wait to see what that is!!
I can't help but smile…I thought I was coming on this trip to be a blessing in other people's lives but really they've been blessing me.
