I remember a year ago my roommate’s sister Katy told me she was about to go to a training camp for some adventurous mission trip… errr something. Sounded cool, but too gutsy for me.  no
Fast forward a year… As my roommate Tracy showed me pictures and videos of Katy’s trip, I was so inspired – this was such an amazing experience – an opportunity of a lifetime!

As time went on I became more and more unsettled with my life. I was living a monotonous life. A boring life. I wanted to travel. I wanted to experience life outside of America. My friend Brandy talked me into applying to teach abroad. I applied to several organizations, but nothing ever came of them. I had also been researching different short-term mission trips at my church and online. Nothing fit my schedule.

The World Race mission trips kept coming to mind, so I decided to apply.  On Monday, April 22 (the deadline quickly approaching) I started the application. Kellen from World Race called me on Wednesday, April 24 to schedule an interview. (what?!) I interviewed on Friday, was accepted, and forked over $3500.

Holy moly – what’d I just do!? surprise

Apparently I like to live on the edge. Who signs up for a year long mission trip and quits their job in the matter of a week?? This girl.

I am 100% certain that God has called me to this mission. I feel such a peace about it. I’m excited yet terrified for how He will challenge me and change me.

So anyway, I need to raise $15,500. I got $40 today, so I’m down to $15,460. Aye aye aye. I’m hoping that several people have an extra grand laying around that they’d like to donate. Just think, if 15 people donated $1000 and one person $500, I’d be set! haha… OR if 25 people pledged $50 a month for the year, I'd be pretty much set. Oh gosh, I'm such a math dork. yes

But seriously, think about donating. Pray about it.
