Every day on the race is a process of saying yes to taking risks and expecting God to show up in big ways. Sometimes this means starting your day with no particular plan and letting God lead.

As my teammates and I sat on the bus in Lithuania, we waited for God to prompt us to get off. After passing several stops, we ended up getting off near a coffee shop on a busy street corner. We ordered lattes, sat at a table outside, opened our Bible, and asked God to bring us someone to talk to.

Almost before we could blink, there was a man standing in front of us, pointing at the open Bible, saying, “Bible?” in a heavy accent. We invited him to sit with us and learned that he was already quite familiar with the Bible. He had a degree in theology and could quote almost every verse in its original Greek form. But as we continued to talk to Him, we realized he knew God in his head, but not in his heart.

For the next two hours, we were able to pour into him and share our hearts for the Lord. It wasn’t scary, it didn’t feel like work, but it was exactly where God wanted us to be. He emailed us recently and said he’s continuing to go deeper with the Lord by looking at the Bible in a new way and studying Paul’s letters.

What I learned is that people are still hungry for the Lord, and God wants to use us to share His love with them. What if we all took an hour out of our day and gave it to the Lord, and asked Him to use us to show His love to someone else?

I challenge you to take a step of faith by saying yes to risk, and see How the Lord uses you to build His Kingdom.
