Well Hello!

I promise I’ll write a blog about training camp… but this one seems more pressing to me. I want to introduce you to my team for the race. I am still processing through much of what was TC and am still blown away by all that God revealed and how He moved among the racers and staff. It was an incredible, in-tents, and crazy week. But for now, meet:

Team Doulos

Jenny House

Jenny is a spunky, march to the beat of her own drum woman from my current location of Forest, VA. We didn’t talk too in depth before we found out we were on the same team. We did put together that I was in nursing school with her older sister – weird. From watching her all week, I know she has a heart for worship and fervently trusts in the Lord. Her passion spills into everything she does and I am so excited to be on a team with someone who exudes so much confidence and joy in the Lord. http://jennyhouse.theworldrace.org/

Christa Hutchison

Christa is another lady that I did not get a chance to talk to a whole lot before team announcements but we did enjoy some fun times playing Frisbee. She is a beast playing ultimate and played volleyball in college. I’m sure that this girl is an athlete. She is outgoing and has a great laugh. I see how God has given her a heart designed with intentionality and joy.  Her desire this year is to grow more content in God’s love for her and I am blessed to be able to share this journey as He reveals more of His heart for us.   http://christahutchison.theworldrace.org/

Lauren Streicher

Lauren and I were in a small group on day 2 and we cried together as we shared bits of our stories. God has given her a powerful testimony and I am excited to see how she becomes more empowered through this. I see Lauren as strong and steady. She will serve our squad as a logistics coordinator – which is a big role, but I know she is up for it. http://laurenstreicher.theworldrace.org/

Audrey Wade

Audrey and I clicked pretty quickly once we started talking. She is witty, wise and carries such grace for others. Already she has shown great intentionality with our squad mates. She was a journalism major in college, so she’ll be proofreading all of my blogs J and stopping all of the nonsense that comes with my 1000 word novels. She is our team’s treasurer and will be dealing with all of our team’s receipts. A bit nervous at the thought of this, I have no doubt that she’ll be great with numbers, just as she is with words. http://audreywade.theworldrace.org/

Deborah Millican

Deborah is our Texas gal. She is not afraid of camping or the outdoors and for that we may make her our resident bug killer. She has a great smile and all week long blew me away with her “wisdom nuggets”. We hung out quite a bit all throughout the week and it was exciting to see her step out of her shell. A bit overwhelmed at first, Deborah knows that this journey is one God has been preparing for her. I am beyond thrilled to be able to learn from her. http://deborahmillican.theworldrace.org/

Tina Meyer

Tina hails from Florida and has a heart for others. I saw it all week long. We were in several groups together and she walks in grace and discernment. She is driven and passionate for relationship, both with others and our Savior. She walks each day in worship of Him and I am excited that she wants to grow in that. She will help coordinate our squad’s Unsung Heroes initiative, which helps find new contacts in countries for future World Race squads. Fully Funded!!! woot woot!!!  http://tinameyer.theworldrace.org/

Our team is made of seven strong women and we will serve alongside 46 others, including our two inspiring Squad Leaders – Dan Lidwin and Poppy Cordell.

Our team’s desire is to grow more content and to be more like Christ, by drawing closer to Him and fighting for each other. We are on this journey together because He has called us to go and in that, while different, we are united. And in that unity our desire is to serve Him. Doulos (Doo-Loss) means servant in Greek. We have no illusions that this year will be difficult, with its fair share of disagreements, challenges and upheavals. But we are called to Him and in this we are confident in our team’s devotion to God and to each other – loving well and seeking to love better. Team Doulos

{{{Please be praying for our team, our squad and the countries to which we will travel. Follow along with their blogs – you love on me when you love on them. And you’ll have a more complete idea of what we’re all about when you follow our team as a whole.}}}

We have a significant financial deadline coming up – June 15th with cut-offs for when funds can be processed even before this date. Each racer must have $6500 in their account in order to launch with our squad sometime in July. I have already met this deadline, but there are a few on my team that have not and several on my squad that are short as well. [if you were about to give in my account – please consider giving to a teammate instead at this time]

I ask that you prayerfully consider supporting these gals! You can click on the links to their blogs and go to the support links on the left hand side. I believe that God has each of these girls on Team Doulos for a reason – but He may be asking you to help get them there! In His name – they will be with me in Romania in July!

Team Doulos is GOING TO ROMANIA! Thank you for supporting us! Keep us in your prayers. If you were looking to donate to the girls- look at my blog regarding Launch Deadline for who on the squad still needs some help!
