Hi everyone. Thanks so much for all your support on my last blog. In the two days since then, a lot has happened. My team and I found out our ministry location and will be leaving Guatemala early tomorrow morning. We will be going with one other team on a bus (a couple buses) to Honduras! I forget exactly where in Honduras we will be going, but will update you all on that soon. We will be working with a pastor there who has established many different ministries in that country. Still unsure what we will be doing when we get there, may be building things, teaching English, and working with churches there. I am half hoping they ask me to build a house. I’m sure that would be fun for everyone to watch. J I’m open to anything. That’s what this trip is about. Look for our team video that will be posted soon on the topic of what The World Race is. All the teams made one about what the WR looks like to them. We had fun as a team making them, even though I’m not the best actress!

This morning I got up at 5am to hike up a Volcano. Pacaya volcano last erupted in May of this year. There is a lot of dried lava. Your feet sink in what looks like small pieces of blacktop the whole way up. It was a steep hike most of the way up. Some people rode horses and I wanted to knock someone off so I could have one after about 30 minutes. I thought in the beginning that the exercise would be good.  I’ll be feeling it tomorrow. The hike up was so green and beautiful. When we got to the top of the volcano, you could see all this smoke coming from the hot spots. It was one of the coolest things I have ever seen. It looked like a mountain that was smoking all over. We even cooked marshmallows over certain hot holes. They cooked in a few seconds. I did get a chance to ride a horse on the way down. I’m not sure if that was good or bad because of all the steep hills we had to go down. I felt at times that I was going to topple head first down the hill.

The thing I loved most about today was not just seeing something beautiful and doing something new, which I think is always good; but was knowing that God made that for us to enjoy. He is really the greatest artist there is. There will be things I see along this journey that will not be so pretty and I will have no answer for. One thing I do know through every day is that God is good and He wants to give His people good things. He has promised us that. Standing on that volcano today I just felt really thankful for all the good things He has given me.
