Hi everyone! My name is Amanda Lawrence. I am 29 years old, and have a Bachelor's degree in Music: violin performance from Portland State University. I am pretty quiet most of the time, and always have been… until you get to know me, then I'm only kind of quiet! I think that's why I love music so much, because I can express myself deeply and creatively, without having to use words.. haha! The violin has been a big part of my life since I was 4, and I love teaching private lessons. I also love animals (my cat Louie the most!), the outdoors, camping, hiking, rock climbing, swimming, hanging out with friends, and spending time with Jesus.
My early childhood was in the city, and then my family moved to the country when I was eleven. I was homeschooled all the way through high school, and truly enjoyed the freedom it allowed. Growing up in my home church, City Bible Church, has also been a huge part of my life, and has helped shape who I am today. However, God's not done with me yet! The last few years have been filled with some of the greatest moments, as well as some of the hardest I have ever faced. Looking back, I can see how He is continuing and continually reshaping me into who He would have me to be; a lamp to bring light and comfort, a pitcher to pour out love and encouragement, or a bowl, to serve and strengthen others. Whatever He is shaping me to be, I always want Him to be the substance from within me that fuels, pours, and feeds those around me.
I am so looking forward to this coming year! I know without a doubt, it will be one of the hardest things I'll ever do, but what I'll gain can never be bought. This journey is and will be priceless!
