gifts!”
Corinthians 9:15
This Thanksgiving, I’ve reflected on a few
different things the Race has made me thankful for:
Heaters/Air-conditioners
Toilet paper
Throwing toilet paper in the toilet
Washing machines, AND Dryers
Personal space
Cell phones…oh wait, I don’t miss those
Chik-fil-A
A place to call home
Potable water from the faucet
American outlets (even S. American will do!)
Hot showers
Stable access to high-speed Internet
My puppy
Warm beds
My chiropractor (love you Lee!)
BATHTUBS!
My car, and being able to drive anywhere I want, anytime I want
Let’s be honest, as much as I’ve learned to be
thankful for these silly things that I miss every now and then, what I’ve
mostly learned is how to live without them. Sometimes I crave the simplicity of
life, and I often wonder what it’s going to be like when I return home to the
“normalcy” of America and all of its wealth.
This Thanksgiving I am thankful for those things,
but I am also thankful to always have a meal (even if it’s not the greatest), a
place to lay my head (even if it’s not the most comfortable), and I’m even
thankful for my discomforts and heartaches so that I can grow and better relate
to the Lord’s people around the world.
and supportive family (whom I thank God for everyday), and my family of
supporters who have made this experience possible. I’m also thankful for my
World Race family, whom I have grown to love more than I ever could have
imagined. Thanks be to God, today and everyday, for the many ways He has
blessed us through the challenges and joys.
“But thanks be to God, who always leads us in triumphal
procession in Christ and through us spreads everywhere the fragrance of the
knowledge of Him!” 2 Corinthians
