11 Months is an incredibly long time, so one might ask: How do you prepare for such a journey?
Well, here are just a few of the things I focused on in my final hours at home:
10) Cuddle with my puppy
9) Shave my legs
8) Stay in bed an extra ten minutes…okay maybe thirty
7) Eat ice cream!
6) Watch Criminal Minds marathon
5) Eat the delicious final meal my fantastic mother prepared
4) Take a long hot shower while shaving my legs
3) Cuddle with my puppy
2) Spend time with my wonderful family and friends
1) Practice my rodent trapping skills….
Disclaimer: Zildjain is our ferret that was sadly killed in the dishwasher.

But seriously, as I sit here in this hostel in Ecuador, I still can't wrap my mind around the fact that the journey has begun. All I know is that I woke up this morning slightly terrified, mostly ill, sad to say goodbye, a little bit excited, but incredibly blessed. I may be a mess of emotions, but I can't deny the fact that God has called me to be a part of something great, and I could not be more thankful for my friends and family at home who have supported me, prayed for me, encouraged me, and pretty much made all of this possible. I love you all and I am so thankful to have you by my side to experience the great works of our Creator all around the World!
