You know that feeling you get when you know something was meant just for you to hear?

Well this last Sunday we had a missionary come to my church, and for the Sunday School hour he shared with the church what his ministry has/is doing. I missed that part, but the part i needed to hear was what he shared with us for the service.

He was in Luke10 38-42 38 Now it happened as they went that He entered a certain village; and a certain woman named Martha welcomed Him into her house. 39 And she had a sister called Mary, who also sat at Jesus’ feet and heard His word. 40 But Martha was distracted with much serving, and she approached Him and said, “Lord, do You not care that my sister has left me to serve alone? Therefore tell her to help me.” 41 And Jesus answered and said to her, “Martha, Martha, you are worried and troubled about many things. 42 But one thing is needed, and Mary has chosen that good part, which will not be taken away from her.”

He focused on how Martha was worried and troubled about many things, but one thing is needed and that Mary has chosen the good part,  the part that can’t be taken away. Mary was at Jesus’ feet, listening to him, spending that quality time with him.

It reminded me how many times I let the situation of what is going on around me, keep me from focusing on God, and not spending quality time with him. That one part that counts, I let the worries and troubles of life keep me from focusing on what really matters. Oh to be more like Mary, who got it. The one who later pours the oil on him to prepare him for death. Oh, to spend that kind of time with him, that you get it. You know so much more because you spend that quality time with him.

After a few weeks of worrying and freaking out a little bit about everything that needed to be done, money that needed to be raised. Those few moments when you feel all alone, not sure how everything is going to be done. It was a good reminder that I just need to step away from all of it, and sit at the feet of Jesus, let him do what he does best. Provided, take care of me. Be a little more like Mary and a little less like Martha.

Other things that happened that week…

A blessing that makes your bank hate you? Yes I think I have that covered.

After the other day, I’m pretty sure my bank now hates me. The 5th and 6th grade Sunday School Class had a penny drive for me, and last Sunday I had the privilege to go talk to them about my trip, and answer questions. They presented me with a can that was full. Then I had another, amazing couple, let me know that they had an old popcorn tin full of change that they were giving to me. Than I also had an amazing friend, who had set up a jar at her school asking for people to donate to my trip. Yesterday, I took it all to the bank, about 45 minutes later we left. I do feel sorry for the ladies at the bank. All together they raised $354.05. It was seriously one of the best things!!

5th and 6th graders.. a few of the kids didn’t make it.

I’m still in need of $3,614. before my world race account is full. if you would like to donate you can by clicking on the link to the left of the screen that says support me.

Thanks to you all for your amazing support and prayer!
