Thus far Cambodia has brought so many new experiences for me
and my team. For the first time Manna is not off in some remote location, we
are in a city (actually the capital Phnom Penh). We are currently living in a
YWAM base (one that I recognized from a video blog from a previous racer!) with
4 other teams. Having to live with so many teams has been a huge adjustment for
my team, but we’re doing good. Also having the ability to go places and see
things, hang out in coffee shops and whatever else the city offers is new for
Manna, and we are enjoying it! Not to mention that the food here is amazing and
a favorite by all.

For me
personally, I’ve eaten new things (silk worm, snake, tarantula), had a
manicure/pedicure for $5 and have discovered the art of sweating profusely even
when doing nothing at all. I’ve also enjoyed going out and spending time with
teammates one on one getting to know them better. God has also challenged to go
deeper in my quiet time with Him and interceding for this nation.

As for
ministry, this month Manna is working with 2 different orphanages. At the first
one we go and teach English, play, do Bible stories and/or arts and crafts. We
have one class in the morning and another in the afternoons and this is what we
do Mon-Wed. Then Thurs-Sat we work with team Koinonia loving the kids and
sharing stories and songs about Jesus and the Bible. We also play lots of games
with them too. Outside of the orphanages we spend time praying, prayer walking
and interceding for the people of Cambodia.

            I can’t
believe our time here will be over before we know it.
