Many months ago (February) I was in Haiti. There I befriended a wonderful young man named Smith. Smith and his family lived in conjunction to Cambry the orphanage we were at. Smith is the oldest of his siblings at 18 years old and his youngest (of 7) brother is about 3 years old.
The reason why I’m writing about Smith now is that we’ve been emailing each other here and there over the months and it’s been amazing to keep in contact with him. His most recent email told me of his father’s death in a car accident at the beginning of June. This leaves Smith as the man of the household. I just wanted to ask you all to be praying for him and his family. Smith has great dreams to continue his education –to become an electrician- and to do so many things. I think right now, he’s probably discouraged, knowing that his dreams might be on hold indefinitely. I encouraged Smith to entrust his dreams to God and that with God anything is possible, because that is what the Word of God says. I don’t want Smith to lose heart in this, to forget the promises of God and out of desperation quit trusting Him. So Please intercede for my friend and brother, that He would feel God’s presence, know God’s guidance and direction, and continue to trust and give his dreams to God because God can do anything. I know that, I want so much for Smith to know that too. Thank you for your prayers.
