Dear Family and Friends and to whom it may concern (because it concerns YOU),
First of all, thank you for taking a few moments to read this letter. I want to write to you so that I can update you about some crazy and wonderful new things that are going on in my life. I’m going overseas to serve as a missionary with Adventure in Missions.
I have been blessed to experience the Lord consistently working in my life in extraordinary ways. I have had a passion for missions since I was very young. Growing up, I would listen intently to the missionaries that came to speak at church. I quickly devoured books about missionary’s lives and their incredible sacrifices. I dreamed of the day the Lord would call me and the flames of my interest were only ignited more when I heard about their hardships and struggles. That was, until I was called. Surprisingly, it’s a lot scarier than I imagined, but the peace that accompanies the call is undeniable. Being in the Lord’s will is the only place I want to be, even when it seems to lead to hardships and turmoil. In September, I will be joining with the program called the World Race. The World Race is an 11-month Christian mission trip to 11 different countries around the world. World Racers develop broken hearts that propel their hands to act for God’s kingdom around the globe. On the World Race, my team and I will serve in partnership with churches and ministries in local communities to preach the Gospel, plant churches, work in orphanages, minister to women and children who are trapped in prostitution as a result of human trafficking, and bring the restoration and hope of the Father’s love to many tribes and nations. I am so grateful for this opportunity that God has given me, and although it is a daunting undertaking, I know that the Lord provide when it comes to funds. My prayer is that He will do that through you. I need your help. I am writing to you to ask if you would consider joining with me to help provide financial support for me in this ministry.
I must raise $15,000 in order to go on the World Race, which covers all of my expenses on the field. This financial support can be given as a one-time gift or as monthly donation; you choose the amount and beginning and end date. If 25 people pledge $50 a month for 12 months, I would have 100 percent of the funds necessary for my trip. PLEASE prayerfully consider if the Lord is calling you to be one who helps me to do His work.
