Hey folks! I'm finally starting this thing called 'blogging'! I’m not exactly sure what I’m doing… so gimme some grace here. I'm Amanda, my family calls me Mandy and my friends call me any number of nicknames, usually making fun of my last name is some way 🙂

I'm 23 going on 24. I’m short, outgoing, but also thoughtful and introverted. I love music, being outside, coke slushies, sunglasses, white v-necks, artsy things, kayaking, fishing, I LOVE flying (not like a bird, like in a plane). I love to joke around and make people laugh. I often describe myself as awkward, but really I just love making other people awkward! (In a nice way…) As much as I love kidding around, I cherish deep conversation and genuine relationships.

I was born in Florida, grew up in Maine, and now I live in Missouri. Although at times I DID hate moving around, God has brought me into many amazing places and has blessed me to be able to meet so many wonderful people along the way. I've had a desire for missions for a long time. In high school, I was deeply moved by the story of Jim Elliot and his family. He was a missionary in Ecuador, who was killed while trying to reach people with the Gospel. His wife and kids stayed and ended up bringing the same people to Christ that killed their husband and father. INCREDIBLE. Stories such as his encouraged me to continually pursue my dreams of going overseas.

I've had the opportunity to be a part of a few missions trips and to partner with an organization where I was able to live and invest in a community for 3 months in South Dakota and another 3 months in New Orleans. Each different experience challenged me, changed me, and heated the flames of my passion for missions. The Lord has put it in my heart to GO, to be out of my comfort zone, to abandon and to follow, and when I feel Him moving and hear His call, I know there’s no where else I want to be.
