The people of Byron Bay…
Poetikool Justice is a band that picked us up one day hitchhiking! I loved hitchhiking in Bryon because it gave us awesome opportunities to meet people, listen to their story of how they got to Byron, and share what we are doing around the world!
Osha works at a middle eastern restaurant in town. She was the only one in the restaurant one day, so I went in and had a great talk with her! Then let me try her cooking.. good times

Naomi attends New Earth Tribe, which is a sweet hippie church in town. Next to her I experienced incredible freedom through unhindered worship. We sang together, we danced together… a lot. It was an incredible picture to me of what it will look like when we are in the presence of the Lord in heaven worshipping Him with all that we are.
Daniel also goes to New Earth Tribe. He was born in Little Rock, Arkansas! Yay Little Rock!!
“Mary Ryan’s” is the café that I go to for my little café ministry. It’s tight because there is this huge wooden table in the center that allows me to have conversations with people who sit down for a cup of coffee. I have met sweet people from all over the world. Bryon Bay has had a ton of rain recently so people flock to the coffee shops. Love it.
Justin works in a t-shirt shop in town. He loves to travel. It was fun to talk to him about his experiences in America and his desire to go back and hit up the national parks like I’ve done!
Rory is my barista/bartender friend. He works at a café in town where most of us use the internet. There is a little table right next to bar that I like to sit at and talk to him. He’s been teaching me how to make good coffee too. J
There are so many other people I’ve met in Byron Bay, I wish I had pictures for all of them! It has been a great month of encouraging people and listening to their stories. I learned so much about how the Lord uses casual conversations to open doors to ministry. Just the question, “What are you doing in Byron Bay?” allowed Jesus’s name to pop up in the very beginning of conversations. His name is POWER and I love that He is able to begin the conversation whether the discussion continues in that direction or not. I’m leaving here confident that people have been encouraged and blessed by the Lord’s work through us. He is just so good! J
