Remember when you were a kid and April 30th was full of anticipation…

You would pop the popcorn and assemble the pipe cleaners.

You would write your notes and color the pictures.

You would stuff them full to the brim with goodies and imagine the delight on your friend’s faces when they found them the next day.

If I told you you could once again experience the joy of sending a May basket, would you?

But instead of sending them full of popcorn they would be full of ministry needs.

Instead of sending them to your friends they would be to my friends.

Instead of them being delivered on May 1 they would be delivered on May 24.

I am excited to announce that at the end of May my sister Laura and I will be leaving on a jet plane.. to serve alongside Kingdom Sports Ministry near CapeTown, South Africa for 9 days. We will be living and ministering with Bradley and Joslyn Barnes and their two sons. This is the same family I worked with when I was in South Africa on the World Race and I am ecstatic to return. We will be doing various ministries including: sports, bible lessons, mentoring and encouraging the adolescents, and showing old friends they were not forgotten. If you would like to follow us while we are there like “Kingdom Sports Ministries” on Facebook as we will not have internet but Bradley will be posting daily updates. I will be writing a blog soon to share more of my heart for going back to South Africa, but this blog is to raise awareness for the urgent needs this wonderful ministry has.

As Americans we are blessed with so much excess and I fully believe this excess is not just meant for ourselves but for us to bless others. In giving we receive far more than we give.

Everyone to whom much is given, of him much will be required, and from him to whom they entrusted much, they will demand the more.” – Luke 12: 48
