Oh well hello there. My name is Amanda and I love the world.

My family: My dad is quite possibly the funniest person ever. He never ceases to make everyone around him feel important and notices even the smallest of people. My Mom is brave; she doesn’t think so, but she is. She has a sweet heart that cares for the broken and needy. My brother, Adam, is literally Ace Ventura. He is bold and the life of the party, but always makes sure everyone feels cared for. My sister-in-law, Lindsey, has a kind soul and a beauty that draws people to her. Baby Ferrell is due May 2016. My little sister, Abby, is the most talented person I know. (She will make me famous one day…) She is shy, but filled with encouragement and joy that is contagious to all.

My story: I was born and raised in Fort Myers, FL by two of the most crazy, yet amazing parents. They are basically my best friends but shhhh, don’t tell! I attended Toccoa Falls College in GA for three of the best years of my life, where I spent most of my time in the gym. Basketball was my outlet. I guess it’s because I spent so much time worrying about who I was and what people thought about me, but when I stepped on the court, I was just Amanda. After some beautiful friendships and great memories were made, I moved to New York to finish my last year at Nyack College. What an incredible adventure that was as Jesus taught me what true courage looks like and slowly increased my passion for missions. After graduation, I embarked on my first missions adventure to Trinidad and Tobago where I spent three months. Since this was the first time in my life that I didn’t have anyone cram religion down my throat, I decided to throw away everything I had learned and become calloused to and simply listen to Jesus. And you know what? He rocked my world! After that summer, I knew missions would forever be apart of my life.

Since then, Jesus has led me to a non-profit called Beautiful Feet. We exist to fight physical and spiritual poverty around the world, but are focused right now in Nicaragua. This beautiful country is my passion as I have been able to build unlikely friendships and watch Jesus replace ashes for beauty. Now, I am excited to see what Jesus is going to do in these 11 months!
