Kenya Recap
Month 7 in Kenya was an amazing month for me. I learned so much from my team, I was poured into in an entirely new way that I didn’t know could exist. Having three amazing men on my team [Chase, Dan, and Nathan] helped me learn how to be served in a way that I have never allowed myself to be served by men before. I had a lot of life spoken into me.
Our ministry mostly centered on doing manual labor at various locations around Nakuru. We rarely went to the same place twice. We would show up and do whatever was asked of us from doing the dishes to chopping wood. We sorted beans and weeded many gardens. We did laundry and held babies. We also got pretty good at washing windows, sweeping floors, and mopping African style [an old sweatshirt and a bucket of water: dip shirt, ring, bend over and wipe the floor probably just pushing the dirt around, dip shirt into dirty water, repeat].
I heard some hard words from my team this month that kind of caught me off guard and I was not ready to receive them, but after mulling over them for some time I realized they were words I needed to hear. I felt supported and trusted. I did my first fast from words where I did not speak for almost the entire day. Personally this month was one of the hardest, but because of the people surrounding me I felt more lifted up on this team than if the same situation happened on some of my previous teams.

This was a great month. The family we stayed with was amazing. Our other contacts at the church we have been working with are wonderful. I have been so challenged this month to walk more in the Spirit than I have been and it has been great. Stay tuned for Month 8 updates!
Much love,
