Dear Enthusiastic Future Racer this is just for you! If you
are a blog stalker [like myself] I am sure you are looking for any little
nugget of information you can get. This one is specifically about training
camp. And trust me, before I say “don’t have any expectations” and you brush it
off just take a moment and step back. If you read a ton of blogs you are
setting yourself up to have expectations without even knowing it.

Dear Future Racer- When you are thinking about training camp
I want to encourage you to stop trying to figure out what God is going to do in
your heart and in your life at training camp.

Dear Future Racer-I want to encourage you to stop searching
for what to expect. I know that we all say that we don’t really have
expectations, but honestly, we do. I can’t tell you how many times I have heard
at this camp “Wow, that wasn’t what I was expecting” and yet, we still respond
that we don’t have expectations. If we don’t have expectations then why was
that activity, or that worship set, or that sleeping situation not what I
expected?

Dear Future Racer- before you come to camp I want to
encourage you to begin praying for the serve team. These people are alumni
racers who come back to serve you and play behind the scenes so that your
training camp is the most wonderful experience and that you will be able to
focus on what training camp is really all about. They clean toilets, stock
toilet paper, cook, and pray just so that you can have the best experience at
camp as you possibly can. When you are there-honor them, thank them, love on
them as much as you can.

Dear Future Racer- honor the people in your life who are
supporting you in this journey especially before you leave. Start now!

Dear Future Racer- Leave your team, your race route, your squad
leaders, your team leaders, your self at the feet of Jesus and be absolutely
ready to live your life completely on the edge of excitement, radical, and  absolutely unexpected.

Dear Future Racer- Just have fun. This can be the most
awesome week of your life, but you have to be willing to have fun.

That’s all for now.

Much love,

-A
