How do you build a team?
Well here at AIM, we’re a real fan of ‘team-builders’ during the first week of initial contact. Nothing gets you closer than someone forcing you to stand on a small blue tarp with the task of flipping it over without any human appendage touching the ground. (a near impossible task, trust me.)
It takes a certain level of strategy, communication, and forced comfort while you’re basically on top of one another. We find ourselves in similar circumstances in real life doing this ComLife thing–we live so closely that we HAVE to find ways to communicate…and invariably end up either close to tears or laughing uncontrollably.
The ups and downs are striking, but much like this teambuilder, we have to hold each other up. Each person has to make it…because if one big toe touches the ground, our consequence is to run up a hill around a tree and start over from the beginning. (no bueno.)
We can’t loose this thing–we’re in it together.
Sometimes, things don’t always go so well…the strategy might fail…people might let us down…
We might be just hanging on to the very edge at points…
…but, we’re a family…
and we stick together.
We have a bond of unity in Christ that can’t be broken.
Through thick and thin, we’re in this together.
ComLifers: Thanks for being my family and pushing through it all and looking more like Christ because of it.
Avid Blog Readers: Thanks for holding me up from afar. Your support keeps me afloat–I couldn’t do this without you.
