We made it. One June 9 my squad and I stepped off our plane in Los Angeles and officially marked the end of our race. We crossed the finish line. We all won.
I’ve been home for nearly three weeks now. Each week brining a new mountain of emotions. At first I was overwhelmed. I unpacked my backpack and realized I’d never pack it back up again, and instead of getting excited I cried, and then I realized I have 10 times more possessions than I could ever need and promptly began a bedroom purge.
Now the newness of being home has warn off and I’ve had to sit down and really wrap my mind around this last year, because people ask me how it was and I don’t know how to give them a straight answer. How could I ever pack 11 months worth of miracles, prayers, experiences and changes into a short conversation? Is there even a straight answer?
So for now I trudge on, into God’s plan and having to trust immensely in his provision, but, I can go with the knowledge that in this last year that I pushed on and finished strong and there’s nowhere to go but up from here.
So, I’ll leave you now with a video, wrapping up this last year, and officially… wrapping up my race.
