Dear Friends and Family,
I hope this letter finds you well! I wanted to write you all to share what has been happening in my life recently. As you all know I went to Uganda, Africa only a couple years ago and I came back completely wrecked. I found myself in love with the people, the children, the culture, and I was in love with being a missionary. Since then all I have been able to dream and hope for is to be back on the field holding and loving orphans, speaking with the homeless, and those neglected and forgotten on the fringe of society. To be given the chance to live out James 1:27, which is “pure and undefiled religion is this; to help orphans and widows in their distress,” is the hope of my heart. So I am absolutely thrilled to announce I have been given an opportunity to return!
I have recently been given a chance to leave with an organization called The World Race to spend 11 months in 11 different countries including Uganda, Kenya, Cambodia, Thailand, Nicaragua and many others. Through adventure, ministry, and community, World Racers develop broken hearts that propel their hands to act for God’s kingdom around the globe. On the World Race, my team and I will serve in partnership with churches and ministries in local communities. There wewill preach the Gospel, plant churches, work in orphanages, minister to women and children who are trapped in prostitution as a result of human trafficking, and bring the restoration and hope of the Father’s love to many tribes and nations.
I am so very excited for the opportunity being presented to me and I pray you can help. In order to jump headlong into my heart's desire and calling for world wide ministry I must first raise $14,300 which will cover the cost of my expenses on the field. I am asking if you would prayerfully and financially partner with me in my ministry. All donations made are tax deductible. This financial support can be given as a one-time gift or as a monthly donation, wherein you choose the amount and beginning and end date. If 25 people pledge $50 a month for 12 months, I would have 100 percent of the funds necessary for my trip before I leave this October.
I have enclosed a response card and pre-addressed envelope, inviting you to share in this ministry. Please make checks payable to Adventures In Missions and return the response card with your donation to Adventures In Missions, PO Box 534470, Atlanta, GA, 30353-4470. The response card will provide AIM with the information necessary to send you a receipt for your donation. If you would prefer to make your donation online, you may do so by visiting my blog site at : amandadavis.theworldrace.org. Just click the “Support Me” link in the upper left side of the page and complete your donation as instructed. Please be sure any checks say “for Amanda Davis.” Also, if you would like to learn more about the World Race and the route I will be on, please check out their website and www.theworldrace.org(october 2011 route).
I am thrilled to see how God is going to move in this coming year! I hope I will be a blessing to both those I serve overseas as well as each of you reading this letter. I thank you in advance for your prayers and financial support.
Joyfully,
