So, I have come to the conclusion that we all really have no idea what encounters and experiences will develop into overtime. We have no real idea what the Lord is going to do with them, and my guess is that He’ll do something much bigger than what we would imagine. This past weekend one of the girls from a group I led this summer (yay TBarM summer camp!!) contacted me! I hadn’t heard from her since she left camp, and she was one of the girls I had some of the best conversations with. It caught me off guard that in the 8 months since camp she had remembered me and held on to my contact info, and then thought to use it! It’s so awesome how the Lord used the connection built from the few days at camp, months later. Who whoda thought? This same weekend that I heard from my camper, I also worked with another group and one of the girls in the group had been to camp 2 years ago. She remembered all about who her counselors were, what they did, and all that good stuff! In a nutshell, this just goes to show that we really don’t know what the impact of our conversations are in the long run or the unexpected ways God is going to use them. I feel like it’s so easy to look at what we think the end result of things and say “yay, that was great, or bummer, that didn’t go as planned, I don’t think I really made a difference.” Really though, who are we to say God is done with the work we did… it’s the work He did and He can do what He wants with it as long as He wants… and that’s stinkn’ awesome!
