After church with Mark, Debbie, and Terri.
All I can say right now is time flies ..and we soon will be flying too! It is already half way through month 7 and I can’t believe it. Our team is loving our time here in Johannesburg, South Africa and already thinking about how bitter sweet the second half of our time here is going to be. We have been blown away and blessed by God’s plans, provisions, and ways he has been moving here. In the past two weeks or so weeks, we have moved from Malawi to South Africa and began our month of “Challenge Africa” / ATL. We have seen God place people in our lives to pour into us and for us to pour into others. He has provided finances in big ways for our entire squad (yay support raising!) and for our team to even be able to do this month of ministry in Johannesburg (yay plans coming together!). The firs week were arrived we googled “churh” in our area, and only one came up – His People’s Church – so we went and there we met Mark. Mark invited us over to his house for tea that day with his wife Debbie and their 3 kids and ended up having us for lunch and helping us get our groceries and things. He and his family have continued to be a blessing to our team this month and meeting them was work by none other than the Lord. Through him and the church we have made connections with other ministries to work with and visit throughout the month. Our primary focus this month has been to meet travelers at the hostel and share with them about our mission along with loving on the staff and helping them out wherever we can. We have meet quite a few 20somethings, had some great conversations, made new friends, adopted some into our team, and have been painting and giving the hostel a face lift of sorts. It has been a great two weeks and we look forward to a great last two weeks. It will be difficult to say goodbyes and leave Africa after 3 months, but we are all very excited to be heading to Asia next! At the end of the month we will be off to the Philippines to start our last 4 months of ministry all in Asia!
