Donkey friend in Burlacu, Moldova (thanks Sarah for the pic)
Working loading wood
The A Team ladies…it’s quite chilly…even cold…
So friends, where am I? That’s a good question, because I’m
not totally sure. I am in a small, small town call Burlacu, Moldova where it is
very likely that sheep, chicken, and geese out number people. I am also certain
that donkey and horse pulled carriages outnumber cars and other vehicles, by
quite a bit.
How did I get here and who am I with? Well, last weekend the
entire squad met up in Romania and did a big team swap. I am now a part of “The
A Team” made up by Jon and Cinthia Bunford, Bethsaida Portalatin, Sarah Gaddy,
and Derek Begin (check out their blogs..all awesome people!). Derek and myself were in Moldova last month while the rest of
The A Team members were in Ireland. It just so happens that my new team has
been sent back to Moldova. We were in a small town called Gotesti last week
helping tear apart rafters of a falling building next to a church we worked
with and collect the wood for a woman to use a firewood. We also shared
messages and testimonies at the church’s youth and in churches in surrounding
areas. This week, we have moved east to Burlacu where we are working with a
local church. We toured the town yesterday along with helping with some
painting that is a part of the remodeling of the church. Today we helped garden
and clear a field today for a woman and attended church here. We have all been
staying in host homes this month, which has made for a warm welcome in each
town along with some unique experiences and fun stories. I’ll have more
pictures and updates to post as they come, till then, here are a few!
