5 Senses of Haiti: (from my perspective thus far!)
Sight: crumbling rock and dust
Smell: burning trash, exhausts, my smelly nalgene
Taste: Gatorade, yummy fresh cooked chicken
Touch: bug spray and sunscreen on
Sound: thunder, the dance club/bar music that I can hear
from my tent
So friends, time for a brief update. We made it safely to Haiti
and our first contact about 10 days ago. We were originally going to be working
in the tent cities and tent churches but there were miss communications with
the contact and our location got changed a couple days into our time in Haiti.
We are now, and will be for the remainder of the month, working and staying at
the Foyer Renmen orphanage. We pretty much play with cute kids all afternoon
and do a mix of things we think the children will enjoy. We have English
classes (our first one was today!), dance class, movie hangout, Bible study,
and weekend VBS ..and of course the occasional dance party.
I’ll have more of an update of how things are going and what
it is like here soon! Hopefully along with some pictures. Internet in Haiti is
not quite as accessible as in the DR.
Love you all and thanks for the continued support and
prayers!
