As I said before, I have been overwhelmingly blessed this month.
Our ministry contacts, Ma and Pa, treated us like royalty. Ma cooked big dinners for us every night and we sat around their dining table together and had a big family dinner. They gave us opportunity after opportunity to be able to see Cape Town and go on adventures. I was so blessed to see the way that they cared for us and opened their home and lives to us.
I was blessed by the people that Ma and Pa set us up with to see Cape Town.
One Sunday afternoon, Steven picked us up in his personal pick-up truck and drove us around the breathtaking Cape Peninsula giving us our own personal tour. Oh, and as if we were blessed enough by that he bought us all fish and chips at "Fish on the Rocks," a restaurant on the ocean. He had known us for about 2 hours when he decided that he was going to take us on this trip. I was blown away with his hospitality and desire to bless people that he didn't even know.
On the last Friday that we were with Ma and Pa, we were told to get up and be ready to go at 8am, not knowing what was in store for us. We were picked up by Hennie, Belinda and Hennie's daughter, Jeanette, and taken on a 9 hour tour of the other side of the Cape Peninsula. We stopped at Monkey Town, the Penguin Conservatory and we ended up at the Botanical Gardens. Hennie paid for us all to get into these places with his own money and then bought us all lunch at the Botanical Gardens where I had one of the best fish dinners of my life. Again, I was blown away with his desire to serve God by blessing his brothers and sisters in Christ.
We were invited to many Braai's (Braai is Africaans for Barbecue). We went to peoples homes and were served amazing grilled sausages and lamb chops.
Ma and Pa took us to the beach with their family one sunny Saturday. A family friend, Graham, picked us up and drove us 45 minutes to drop us off at the beach and then he picked us up later in the afternoon and drove us all the way back home. He also dropped us off a snack lunch in the middle of the day. Ma and Pa's family also brought us lunch that day and we had a beach picnic feast!
Several times people would stop by the house and drop off boxes of food to feed us with for the month. It seemed like every time I turned around there was a new box of food on the counter that someone had dropped off to help feed the World Race team.
God has blessed us so much this month through all the people that we have met. Something I have definitely been challenged with is to look for new ways to bless people. If it means randomly buying a box of food for someone or taking time out of my day to give someone a ride somewhere, I want to do that more in the future. God will use anything that you do to truly bless someone else and it was an amazing experience being the blessed person this month.
