"If faith can move the mountains, let the mountains move."
So many times we find ourselves falling into sin after sin, and asking for forgiveness again and again. There are so many mountains that are blocking us from moving forward. Every step we take is a little more painful and it makes us want to go back to where we came from… the easy routine that we have all gotten so used to. But God longs for us to keep pressing forward. We were created in HIS image so that we may do things as He has done them. With pride, integrity, to the fullest of our ability. But if we keep walking backwards, we will never reach that full potential.
There is a story of a man who was accused of a crime that he never committed. He was in prison for 13 years. In that 13 years, he managed to go completely insane and then back to sane once again. He had gotten used to his new home in the prison. Every day for the 13 years that he was there, the bottom of the door opened 3 times. Once for breakfast, once for lunch, and once for dinner. One day a man came to the door, opened it and said "I know that you didn't commit the crime you're in here for, and I am setting you free. I have bought the prison and I am righting the wrongs of the owners past." But the man who was in the cell just sat there. He had gotten so used to being in the cell that he would rather stay where he was, where he knew what was going to happen, than step outside into the light and be free. He was more content knowing what would happen every second of every day and he was afraid of something different. So many of us are living in the here and now because it's what we know and we are afraid to step out of that comfort zone. And that is why our mountain stays right where we left it. We are too scared to kick it down, to tell it to move, to climb over it.
Coming into the application process of the World Race, I didn't have a clue what I was getting myself into. I had a friend who was on the WR when I applied, and when she got home she started telling me more about it. There was running water some places, and other times you "showered" and did your laundry in duck ponds. Yummm. But the more we talked, the more I felt God pushing me towards the mountain. I heard a story about a man who traveled up a mountain for 7 days just to minister to one person who wanted to hear about Jesus. A man from the village on top of the mountain came down to his group and said "there is someone in my village who wants to know about this Jesus." The man who went up was the ONLY one who said "I'll go". So he started his journey. He hiked over the rocks, through the snow, in negative temperatures, until he got to the village. Five years later, the man he told about Jesus had reached over 25,000 people who lived in the villages and towns at the bottom of the mountain. Thousands of people will go to heaven now because one man said "I'll go".
So today, I'm saying "I'll Go" knowing that God is going to use myself and all of my teammates to do His work and spread His love.
