Here we are.  We made it.  Welcome to Guatemala.  We have been living in Xenacoj for a little over a week, and God has showed up in ways I never thought I'd be a part of.  We are working with and Organization called Go Ministries and the HOW project (Helping Orphans and Widows).  In the mornings we participate in a feeding program at a school, where we serve the students breakfast.  There is also a school where we will be going in the coming weeks where we will be teaching English.  In the afternoons, we go house to house and visit the widows that live in Xenacoj.  There are about 175 widows that the HOW project has been helping.  Saturdays, we have a feeding program at the Center (where we are sleeping) for the widows and orphans to come eat breakfast and hear a message from the Bible.  It's been a life changing experience thus far, and I cannot wait to see what else God has in store for us.

But, I have two other things to talk to you about today.

Number one… I have a deadline coming up.  A deadline that determines whether I stay on the field, or whether I go home.  And frankly, home is the last place where I want to be.  The last place where I feel called to be.  This is where the title comes in… I sometimes feel like now that I'm on the field, people back home have forgotten where I'm at and what I'm doing and that I still need to be fundraising while I'm here.  And can I just let you in on the secret?  Fundraising overseas is not an easy feat.  I have under three weeks to raise $3,000 in order to stay on the field.  That means that I need to have that money processed in my World Race account by April 1.

Number two… My team (GPS) is working on a project this month called Unsung Heroes.  Seth Barnes, the founder and CEO of Adventures in Missions, has envisioned to not only change the world in the places where WR has gone before, but also to find more kingdom workers who are making an impact!  The hope is to expand the WR contact base to reach more of the least of these.  "The new contacts will be men and women who complement the WR's focuses of identity and Kingdom building." (Unsung Heroes Campaign Manual)

Why am I telling you this?  Well, I think that someone out there, reading this blog, knows someone in Guatemala who might fit the description of an Unsung Hero.  And my hope in this, is that you tell me more about what you know!
