How do you want to feel? This is a question that my teammate, Betsy, asked us one night in China. And it got me thinking… I compiled a list of 26 ways that I would like to feel. One way for each letter of the alphabet.
Appreciated. Beautiful. Creative. Delighted. Energetic. Fantastic. Gracious. Humble. Imaginative. Joyful. Kind. Loved. Magnified. Needed. Open. Plentiful. Quiet [spirited]. Rambunctious (because who doesn’t want to live a fun life?). Steadfast. Trusted. Understood. Victorious. Warrior like. X-ray (transparent). Yolked (evenly). Zesty (because a life without a little zest is white rice).
After we finished our list of how we wanted to feel, the question was asked: “What do you want the story of your life to look like? So I threw together another list of words that I thought might capture my vision for my life.
Artsy. Joyful. Blessed. Godly. Spur of the moment. Exciting. Thriller. Adventure. Colorful. Happy. Adoption. Travel. BAM! Snow. Ministry… Unconditional love.
The final step of this activity was to write down (or think about) 25 goals that we have for our lives… So I made a new bucket list:
1. Hot-air ballooning.
2. Sky diving.
3. Get married (but it’s okay if I don’t).
4. Own a successful tattoo parlor.
5. Find true happiness [every day].
6. Set foot in every continent.
7. Set foot in almost every country.
8. Sponsor a child (or two… or three… or more…)
9. Play a concert- just me, my guitar, and a crowd of beautiful people.
10. Adoption.
11. Make a CD and donate all profit to cancer research.
12. Pay it forward [every day].
13. PB&J Outreach
14. Compete in the Winter X-games.
15. Get a degree (finish school).
16. Run a marathon.
17. Bike across the USA.
18. Work at Hollywood Studios.
19. Buy a kilt— and ROCK IT!
20. Visit the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle Factory.
21. Read my Bible [every day].
22. Journal as much as I can.
23. Invent something original.
24. Get sleeves (tattoos)
25. Work at Disney World… Disney Princess– maybe just for a weekend.
So, a few of these may seem over the top, maybe even impossible.– but I have learned, while on this journey, that if you want to see a BIG miracle, all you need is faith and impossibility.
