Float with me to a place of danger.
It's raining… pouring;
Drowning every living thing.
You are alone; all alone.
No one is in sight.
You scream for help.
Beg and plead for someone to help you.
No one…

The waters rise.
The rain falls harder, faster.
You are cold, wet, scared;
So very scared.
You don't think help could possibly arrive soon enough.

You kneel down in the water,
Raise your face to the sky and in the storm,
through the howling winds,
You ask God to save you.

Quietly, humbly pray to him for grace.

You stand up.
You feel a sense of peace,
a warm reassurance covers you.
You know there is a place for you with God.
He loves you.

A shout interrupts  your thoughts.
A man is headed towards you in a boat.
A young man,
eyes large and merciful,
hands as rough as his old skiffle,
extends his arms and cradles you with comfort.
Comfort that you know has helped many.

He says,
"I will lead you to safety, child.
I will always be near you and never let you stray."

Thunder booms,
lightning strikes,
His loving expression comforts you.
Comforts me.

May the love of God captain you
and be your guide and compass as you experience
the world's rough waters.
