Dear Friends,
>>>I wanna start this off by letting you know that receiving this letter means that in some way over the course of my life you have been impactful and helped me grown into the person I am today!! For that I thank you greatly!!<<<
Here’s the scoop, the past few years of my life have appeared rather aimless (at least to myself). Going to school full time didn’t work as planned, pursuing a job in student ministry was a dead end as well. I’ve been in and out of jobs and in and out of living situations. I had been so anxious to run off to my next big adventure and really start “living” as opposed to simply “surviving” that I forgot that the timing of this great adventure wasn’t up to me. About a year ago I finally stopped and decided to focus what was right in front of me, paying off my school bills, holding down a steady job and living each day like it was an adventure (even if it wasn’t the one I had in mind).
Low an behold one regular day in November the adventure I had been dreaming of finally arrived. I have been offered a spot on a mission trip know as Then World Race (a trip hosted by organization Adventures in Missions). The World Race is an 11month interdenominational mission trip to 11 different countries. I will be involved in all kinds of ministry in these countries from working with orphans, teaching English, planting churches, feeding victims of natural disasters, and ministering to those trapped in prostitution due to human trafficking, all while spreading Truth and hope. Ya see, God never had the normal world in mind when creating me. My heart and spirit have always been wide open and free. People have always been my purpose. Going on a trip like this is not a numbers game to me, its not about how many lives will be rescued physically or eternally. Rather, this experience is about building a family!! I will get the opportunity to authentically love the “least of these” and possibly welcome them into a true family for the first time in their entire lives.
I will face many challenges all throughout the World Race, but as I prepare for my departure, one of my greatest challenges is my financial support. Like most other missions organizations, World Race participants are required to fundraise financial support. In order to leave fully funded on June 27th 2015, I need to raise $16,285. This money will cover all of my field expenses for the 11 months of the trip. As I take this large step of faith in trusting the Lord, would you prayerfully consider joining me at $75 monthly or some other amount? I will touch base with you in a few days to answer any questions you might have or hopefully set up a time to catch up and fill you in. You can also visit my blog at (amandaallen.theworldrace.org) to find out more about me and follow my journey.
With all my love and gratitude,
Amanda A.
