They say a picture is worth 1,000 words. Well here’s 10,000!

Here are 10 pictures, 1 from each month on the race so far.

This month I have spent a lot of time reflecting on the past 10 months: so I decided to share with you some of my favorite memories I’ve been reflecting on, in the form of photos! Here it goes!

CAMBODIA | Month 1 – September ’14: teaching, singing, and coloring with the kids from the railroad slum community in Phnom Penh.

THAILAND | Month 2 – October ’14: picking corn in the mountains near Burma, to help a farming family (while adopting the look of a tourist grandma).

VIETNAM | Month 3 – November ’14: celebrating Thanksgiving at Grace Cafe with our hosts & some of the college students we built relationships with. I have so much love for this community! Such a great month.

UGANDA | Month 4 – December ’14: one of the kids from the church we worked with- this little girl always came to sit & dance with me at church services..I love this precious girl too much.

RWANDA | Month 5 – January ’15: leading a small group with the lovely women from the church we worked with in the village…I learned so much about community from these women.

ETHIOPIA | Month 6 – February ’15: beautiful children at a Saturday feeding program on Endhino Mtn, Addis Ababa.

MONTENEGRO | Month 7 – March ’15: God did so well here…the incredible scenery of the Balkans. This was taken near where we were for the month…this place is so special to me, because -fun fact: 2 years before I was here on the race, I was on a study abroad trip driving by this same coast. At that time, I felt God saying I’d be back in this region for missions (& I was so confused)..but 2 years later, it happened (& we were not supposed to come here- our route changed)..God is so faithful!

ALBANIA | Month 8 – April ’15: Flora & Albana- some of ladies who worked in the kitchen at the Hope Center. Somehow we managed to communicate (thanks charades!), and I will never forget their kindness, their laughter, and their joy….yes, they are (pretending to) play a ukelele & giggling the whole time.

HONDURAS | Month 9 – May ’15: with some of the first graders during recess, at Kindgom Billingual School, where I taught this month. I still miss these kiddos so much.

NICARAGUA | Month 10 – June ’15: handing out cookies & notes inviting the community to the local church we partnered with in Esteli!
