In this beautiful country surrounded by the snow-capped Andes Mountains, my team and I will be focused on children’s ministry, local church ministry, special needs ministry, teaching English, feeding programs and refugee ministry. I am extremely excited for this because I am so passionate about working with children and particularly children with special needs. This ties into my degree and I am so stoked to use my knowledge and to grow and learn more.
Ecuador is known for its active volcanoes and beautiful lush jungles so days off will be full of exploring God’s creation. While it has become a huge tourist attraction, the country is also known as being a refugee place for Venezuelans. I am excited for mealtimes because Ecuadorians are known for being very hospitable and meals are a time to slow down and be social; this will be a great time to make new friends and build relationships.
We will be working alongside three different partners during the month. The first being Inca Link, which will be our ministry host during our time here. They work with children on the streets, feeding programs, women who were formerly trafficked and much more. Pan de Vida is run by a man named Oscar who provides more than 1,600 meals to people each month. And lastly, a retired couple, Bob and Lori who plant churches and raise up disciples. I cannot wait to learn more from each of them and to serve the community.
Thank you for following my journey, I can’t wait to share more!!
