Month ten is quickly ending. Tomorrow actually. Bright and early, or while its still dark, we’ll be taking taxis to meet up with the rest of our squad and travel to Uganda. OUR FINAL MONTH. Woah.

But first, there is a lot to be said about this past month in Rwanda. My team and I were hosted outside of Kigali in a happening village called Kabuga, where wifi was zero, but “bike-taxis” were plenty. We stayed with an incredible family who welcomed us into their home and told us to call them mom and dad. We also adopted 5 brothers and sisters.

They run a church called “Foundation of Peace,” but it is unfortunately closed at the moment, as many churches here have been shut down by the government. Despite this, our ministry was still rich and honestly an adventure everyday. We focused on reaching the people of Kabuga with the gospel through door to door evangelism. And 8 people accepted Jesus! Praise God! We also spent time cleaning and decorating the church, and praying that it will be reopened again soon.

Beyond the level of contentment I experienced in our “ministry,” I struggled more this month than any other month in a few areas. There were a lot of internal battles that I had to fight, and hard situations kept coming up that I struggled to lay down. But in the midst of all of it, God in all His goodness, reminded me what it looks like to not only extend grace to others, but also extend it to myself. It’s a learning process. (I’d love to talk about this more at another time and place).

In other news, we had the opportunity to experience a Rwandan wedding, check out the heartbreaking Rwandan Genocide memorial, and get our very own African outfits handmade at the market. Truly a month of unforgettable experiences.

And now – here we are… Headed into the final month of the Race. If you are wondering, I still do not know exactly what I will do when I go home. But I am still trusting that the Lord will reveal that in His timing. He’s never let me down before.

See you soon friends and fam. Thanks for the prayers and for following my journey!
