Helloo, my people –

We made it to Asia! – Cambodia, to be more specific!

The “Kingdom of Wonder” they call it.

I read the words on my visa as we sat waiting for our backpacks to show up on the luggage belt in the Phnom Penh airport. Midnight our time, noon in the States. After a week of travel, I was exhausted. But walking outside and breathing in the thick humid air, motor bikes everywhere (with 5 or 6 people crammed on them), people speaking a language that I couldn’t even begin to interpret… so much wonder.

It’s hard to describe the way I feel here in Cambodia. I think the best way to put it is this: nothing feels “normal,” but everything feels right.

I look back on the past few weeks with a broken heart that there is only two left.

I love this country.

I love the people here.

I love our ministry.

I love the food – and I have a new obsession with lemongrass.

I love the culture.

I love the weather.

I just love this place so dang much.

This month, my team and I have been teaching English at a preschool. The kids are the cutest. The teachers are incredible. It is an all-English speaking school so we have also been working with the teachers to help them improve their English. On Wednesdays, we host a mini church for the teachers and our team. On Sundays, we worship barefooted at church, because they don’t wear shoes inside here. Ever. Some days are long and challenging and we go to sleep at 8:00. But every day is worth it.

It’s busy, so I haven’t given myself much time to process, or blog, until now. But who would’ve thought… I am slowing down just for a second… and here I am with an iced latte in the middle of a village in Cambodia. The Lord provides y’all.

The Lord has also provided financially and I am beyond excited to say that I am FULLY FUNDED!! When I began the process of support raising over a year ago, I knew He would come through. And He has been oh so faithful. So thank you, thank you, thank you everyone who has supported me on this adventure financially and prayerfully. I am overwhelmed by gratefulness and am super blessed to be here.

Love,

Alyssa
