A year ago God knew…

I’d be digging holes on a farm in Costa Rica

I’d make connections with people I’ll never forget

I’d learn enough Spanish to lead a children’s club for an hour and a half without a translator

I’d grow closer to God than I’ve been in a long time

I’d get so many bug bites that I look like I have chicken pox

I’d zipline through the Costa Rican jungle like I’ve always wanted to

I’d get to nap 3 days a week

I’d play soccer for the first time in my life

I’d play soccer for the 2nd time and see improvement (I can actually pass the ball now)

I’d uproot a tree and realize God has uprooted the hurt and pain I’ve carried for over a decade

I’d need a team of girls who I can trust and who bring out my authentic self

I’d live on a farm that was so filled with peace and love

I’d have so much joy, even while collecting rocks in the rain

I’d be missing my dog, so He gave me a dog who lived at the farm

I’d get to pray for everything: our meals, our coffee, for Costa Rica, for kids, for illness

I’d need a pick me up, so He put Dr Pepper in a grocery store for me

I’d get to see a sloth just hanging out in a tree off the side of a road

I’d get to celebrate 2 birthdays with 2 people so dear to my heart

I’d spend one entire day in bed because I was dizzy and feverish

I’d get to go to church and worship in 2 different languages

A year ago today God knew I’d need this month in Costa Rica. Not only to make an impact on the people I’m serving, but mostly for them to have an even greater impact on me.
