MEET SUNNY
Hey y’all! My name is Alyssa (or Sunny), I am currently working at a Retirement Home, leading and organizing daily programs for residents in Health Care and Assisted Living. I attend the community college and I am studying General Studies. In my spare time, I am always at the beach or at least outside.
I have been on multiple mission’s trips in the U.S. with my church, but this will be my first international mission trip. I absolutely love traveling, going to new places, and meeting new people. I am on the leadership team of a Young Adult Ministry called The Well, involved in a Christian Community called Kalos, and a part of a ladies small group bible study.
These past couple of years God has faithfully been working in my life. Disciplining me. Changing me. Healing me. Prepping me. Encouraging me. And Loving me. His love has changed my heart and brought me to a place that I never saw for myself. A place of freedom. A life that now has purpose and meaning. This is never the plan that I had for myself, and man am I grateful for His ways and not my own.
I am so excited to go on the The World Race! I am completely humbled and ready to fully abandon myself, to be in service to our Father, and to be the hands and feet of Christ. Yet, this is a huge step of faith for me to step away from all that I have, and to be able to raise more money in the next few months than I have ever earned in a year. Seriously scary! Yet I know that if this is God’s direction for my life He will make it happen no matter what.
But, this isn’t about me. It’s not about my goals or dreams, it’s about God and His Kingdom and making disciples, which He calls ALL of us to. So, I’d like to ask you to consider partnering with God and I through this journey. This is not something that can be done alone. And praise the Lord we are never alone. Our God is a God of relationships. I believe our God created us to be in community with one another, by not only praying for one another, but by walking along side each other, encouraging, and leading each other to Him.
So, I am asking you to partner with me in this endeavor in two ways. First and foremost, in prayer that I am correctly discerning God’s calling and that He would use me as a vessel to touch those I meet. Secondly, in helping me with financial support, so that I can participate in this mission. I am incredibly blessed and grateful to share this journey with you all.
