To the people who subscribed to receive all my blogs: Thank you and HELLOOOO!!!! To a few of my friends that I subscribed without your permission: SURPIRSE!!!!!
I just came home from a week and a half long training camp, which is in Gainesville, Georgia at the Adventures in Missions base. So, as you can imagine, I’m overwhelmed with the things God has showed me this past week, as well as all the preparation I have to do before I launch in the beginning of January. Camp was packed full of meeting and getting to know my squad and our leaders (which consists of around 30 people my age), taking bucket showers, eating new food, plenty of sessions to prepare our hearts, a hike, tent-sleeping, and God showing me His love time after time. A common theme God has been teaching me the past two years is “being” before “doing.” Too often I get caught up in the things I have to do to succeed, yet my identity is not found in my checkmarks on a to-do list. Who I am is a daughter of The King, and the things that I do will never affect His love for me. The past two weeks were so refreshing because I just rested in the fact that I am loved before I complete or do anything.
PS my squad nicknamed me Peaches and I think it’s so cute.
For those of you who need a reminder, here’s some logistics for ya: I launch on January 4, 2019. The race lasts 11 months so I will come back to Georgia at the end of November 2019. The countries that I am visiting in its order is Cote d’Ivoire, Ghana, Togo, Myanmar, Thailand, Malaysia, Philippines, Argentina, Chile, Bolivia, and Peru. There’s a number of things we will be doing but working in orphanages, going to unreached villages, and building churches are a few. We know the need of some countries already, but others we will assess what we are doing upon arrival.
I hope this answered some of your questions, but if you have any more please email me back and I would love to talk!!!
All of the love,
Alyssa Miller
