Here’s a blog I wrote at the end of March, I’m sorry it’s late!!!

As my team and I have our last month in Africa, I can’t help but reflect on how unexpectedly wonderful and ridiculously hilarious this month in Togo has been.

Our host in Lomé, Pastor Zank, humbly invited us to preach and lead worship at surrounding churches, teach at his bible school, and go to nearby villages to spend time with the children there.

Not one person on my team, myself included, has been trained as a theology teacher or preacher, BUT my team has grown tremendously just by following what the Holy Spirit has told us to do or say. It has been so life-giving to see my team walk in the authority we all have in The Father, when our own strengths and personal confidence just wouldn’t suffice. There has been multiple times where we arrived at a church and we felt the Holy Spirit mixing up what we had planned, and we just went with Him! It was such a joy because it takes all of the pressure off of us and our “performance” and puts all the focus on the Holy Spirit and what He can do. I saw many people encouraged this month over the words God spoke through us, and it was so cool to experience God as a provider as He helped us through grounds where we were TOO unqualified to function without Him. Ha! Most of the time when encouraging a class or congregation, I spoke about walking in our authority God has given each of us.

In the month of March, I learned, not about what I can do, but what God can do through our insufficiency, if we only allow Him.

This is exciting news people!!! We don’t have to operate out of lack. We no longer have to judge what our outcome will be based on what gifts/talents we do or don’t have. Financial stability or instability doesn’t have reign to determine how successful we can be in reaching out to others. We will always have the supplies we need because we have Jesus. EVERYTHING that Jesus has, so do we.
