I have a PASSION for story. Since becoming a believer, I realized that God is the BEST storyteller of all time. The story of redemption that we find in the Bible is a story that makes your heart pound, brings you to tears, and sets your soul free. Beyond this written story, God is authoring new stories of hope in peoples’ lives everyday – stories of life-change that are begging to be told.
I cannot wait to tell those stories on the mission field. When I was at the Storytelling Workshop a day before training camp began, the Lord spoke to me: “Alyssa, you were made for this. Made to tell my stories. I will bring people to you – people whose stories need to be told. Make the invisible hearts seen. You will tell stories of redemption and sacrifice, of struggle and heartache, of healing and selfless love – stories of the heart that move the heart. Put my glory on display and show the Kingdom breaking through.”
Use me Papa! As I think about the year to come, the thing that makes my heart explode with excitement is the intimacy of co-creating with my Creator. Partnering with Him in sharing the beautiful stories He’s writing. Being a daughter that says with abandon, “Papa inhabit me and have your way! Take me to the remote villages and trash heaps, to the broken hearts and shattered souls. Let me touch your heart in a way that no one has touched it before.”
The first story I wanted to share with you is the one that Anna Fasl, Kathryn Moore, and I made at the Storytelling Workshop. We were given three hours to produce, film, and edit an entire video! What a STRETCH that was for me! I usually take 50-100 hrs to create a story video, so only having THREE was insane. We decided to tell the story of how God called Kathryn to the World Race!
If you’re moved by Kathryn’s story, please consider donating to her World Race fund! She needs to raise another $3000 by December 10: http://kathrynmoore.theworldrace.org/
