Hi! I’m Alyssa! I love children, sewing, and goats.
I’m a 23 year old country girl from Mid-Missouri. I’m the oldest of 4 kids, My brother Ben is 19, Sam is 16, and my only sister (who has had me wrapped around her finger since birth) is 12. Being the oldest kid in the family probably contributed to my love of working with kids.
I have been sewing since I was 6 and sewing most of my own wardrobe for the past 4 years. My sewing machine is probably going to be the one item I’ll miss the most while I’m doing the World Race (though coffee may be a close second).
I’m a country girl. My parents had me driving the tractor in the hay field when I was 8. I drive an old Chevy pick-up, and you will most often find me wearing boots and jeans. I can buck hay bales, pull a kid (as in baby goat, not human), and back a trailer. After my dad refused to let me get a horse, I got into goats. I’ve kept a small herd of alpine dairy goats for about 10 years now. They are fun animals!
After trying college for a year I decided it wasn’t for me. I felt a strong calling toward missions. So, I’ve been working as a nanny until I figure out where God is calling me and what he wants me to do. Then I heard about the World Race and knew it was what I needed to be doing right now. I am thrilled to get to go on this adventure and see what God has in store!
