“Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Jesus Christ.” – 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
Why do I keep wondering what He wants from me or what I can do for Him? This is pretty simple stuff. Why do I feel the need to complicate the situation?
Rejoice always – Choose joy, in everything. Even when all I want to do is complain or cry or scream. Try to choose joy. Look for joy despite those feelings.
Pray continually – Be in constant communication with the Lord. Someone had this vision of me talking to God with those telephones that are made out of soup cans and string! 🙂 He just wants me to want to talk to Him. He wants to be my best friend. I don’t need wifi or 3G. All I have to do is pick up my imaginary soup can and talk. And you know what!? He listens and talks back!
Give thanks in all circumstances – Be thankful for everything because nothing is mine. Be thankful for the good and thankful for the bad. Being thankful is an easy way to switch my focus from myself to God. Play the thankfulness game!
Right now, I am thankful for sweatpants, sprite, and the sun.
This is it! This is God’s will for me in Jesus Christ.
