The past two months, in India & Nepal, I have had the opportunity to climb physical mountains and see views of creation that I would only dream of seeing.
But more importantly God has been guiding me up and down spiritual mountains. I tend to stand in awe when I get to the tops of these mountains; admiring the views, processing what Jesus has done, and just basking in His glory.
The Lord gave me a vision of me sitting at the top of a mountain. Marveling at Creation. Then I realized I was sitting on the peak. It was really sharp and I started to feel uncomfortable. I was anxious to move on because my flesh wanted to stay and soak in the view a little longer. Then I looked over and Jesus was starting down the mountain without me! He looked back and stretched out His hand to me. It was time to go. “But Jesus, I love the view! Do we have to leave already?” But I knew it was time to go and continue the journey. I took Jesus’s hand and we ran down the side of the mountain together.
Jesus is teaching me that He is the one who helps me climb these mountains, He is also the one to be there when I feel anxious and afraid to go back down the mountain. He is going to stretch out His hand to me and guide me along His path. I am so thankful for the mountains and the views they have. But I am not on a journey for the views, I am on a journey with Jesus and anywhere and everywhere I can experience Him. And it doesn’t stop in 9 months once the World Race is over. This is a journey of a life-time, a life-time of Jesus. Woo-hoo!!!
