Here we go, it’s the beginning. It’s been in my mind for months. I’ve told more people about it than I can remember. I’ve stressed about it, I’ve laughed about it, I’ve prayed about it and I’ve dreamed about it, now it’s time to start it. Tomorrow, I leave for training camp, the start of my World Race! It’s where I will meet my squad, squad F, the people I will be spending the next year doing ministry with. Tomorrow, this thing gets real.

Meeting my squad is so exciting and also nerve-racking. These people are going to be my family this next year. I will spend every waking moment with them, they will be the ones I experience amazing new adventures with and they will help me grow into a better version of myself. Tomorrow, we will meet, but soon we will know each other inside and out! This next week of training camp will certainly be challenging and exciting, I covet your prayers. I will be stretched and grown during training camp, I only hope I will face the growth with joy and grace in my heart.

When I get back, I’ll only have 5 or so weeks until I leave for the Race, 5 weeks that I know will go by quickly!

I wanted to let you all know of a couple of events I will be having in June. First of all, on Saturday, June 8th,  will be having a garage sale to raise funds for my trip. If you have any unused items that you would like to donate, let me know. I will be starting to collect items when I get home next week.

Also, on June 15th or 16th, I will be having a dessert fundraiser at Grace Place church in Berthoud. I will hopefully be sending out a confirmed date when I get back from training camp. The fundraiser will also be doubling as a goodbye party, so I hope you all can be there! More details will follow soon!

*Fundraising Update*

I have raised $9,000 so far!! Only $6,500 to go! Thank you, thank you, thank you, everyone for all your support!

Excited to start the journey  – Alyssa
