Month one, India, check.
We have moved on and moved up, literally.
My team now finds ourselves in the beautiful nation of Nepal, and I’m loving up.
To give a brief summary since I updated you last, our last week in India went great. We were able to love on the kids of Sarah’s Covenant Homes and love on the Ayahs that carried for them. I saw how much impact my team had when there were tears in the eyes of the kids and the Ayahs as we said goodbye.
After our goodbyes, we had a few days of rest in Hyderabad before heading north, into a country that I had anticipated visiting for a long time, Nepal!
We arrived in Kathmandu, Nepal on August 1st, and the beauty of this nation took my breath away immediately. The green, lush mountains appeared like an oasis to my soul, beckoning me to go higher, to seek for more. The anticipation in my soul landing in Kathmandu is hard to describe, for it was more than excitement.

On our first morning in Nepal, our ministry contact sat the four ministry teams that were working under him down and we had a meeting. We started off by watching this video, and that was were I heard it, “It’s go time”.

“The time is now. Arise for your light has come. Wake up and go forth.”
My spirit was practically exploding with joy, anticipation and excitement. This is what I had been waiting for. I knew in my spirit that this is going to be a special month for my team, that we are going to see the Lord work in amazing and miraculous ways.
We continued to listen to the briefing on Nepal, and much of what we heard would normally sober my spirit. Our ministry contact, the director of Asha Nepal, was sharing about the horrors this nation battles with in the area of sexual slavery, child prostitution and even human sacrifices. Nepal is ruled by a Hindu belief system and the evidence is everywhere you go, much like India. We heard testimonies of young girls who were sold into sexual slavery by their family members, but were now given testimony to the Lord for rescuing them out of those places and even rejoicing for the salvation of their families.
All the things we heard, about all the spiritual darkness, oppression and pain that this nation struggles with would normally be enough to leave me with a heavy heart. But I couldn’t shake this excitement that was growing. Finally my team was able to take our ministry information sheet up to the roof to look at our schedule and where we will be staying, in the south Kathmandu valley. Finally, my team was able to spend some prayer time on that roof, praying over what our next month in Nepal, it was beautiful. Not only were we surrounded by beautiful green mountains and rice fields, but there was also a beautiful spirit of the lord among us. It was more of a fire really, a fire that stirred us with excitement for this next month.
We really don't know what our day to day ministry will look like, it will vary day to day but will include lots of evangelism and some service projects. We are staying in south of Kathmandu and to get to our "home" for this month, we were required to hike for thirty min. with our full packs on. If anything makes you want to get rid of stuff, that will do it. Our home for the month is staying in a church building, all the girls have one small room and the guys another. We wake up every morning surrounded by the green mountains of Nepal and have tea to start our day, I am going to love it here! We start our first real ministry in Nepal tomorrow!
Thank you so much for your prayers over my team, I feel them every day! I know the Lord will be doing amazing things this next month and I am filled with excitement!
