When God says to do something, you better do it.

I have heard different versions of this saying multiple times over the past few weeks.

Tomorrow is my LAST DAY with my students and Friday will basically be my last day at my school.  As I tell other teachers, staff members, parents, and even community members that I am leaving Hazlehurst, I also have the chance to tell them about where the Lord is sending me next.  Almost every single person I have talked to has told me that I will be missed, that they want to go with me, and that if God wants you to do something, then you should do it.  I guess it comes from living in the rural South but everyone here has been so supportive and encouraging.  I have had some really deep, Jesus-centered conversations with people at the bank, at the district office, in Walmart, in my front yard, and in the hallways and classrooms at school.  It truly has been a blessing and they have also helped me not feel guilty about leaving this school that desperately needs good teaching, love, and compassion.

{Thank you Lord for surrounding me with people who believe in the work You are doing around the world. Bless this town that I have called my home these past two years and the people who truly do want to make it better.  Protect them, give them guidance and leadership, may they seek You, and radiate Your love.  Give them teachers who care and work relentlessly everyday so that those babies can rise above their circumstances and thrive.  I am torn as this chapter of my life closes but I know that You have an unimaginable plan for the city of Hazlehurst, Mississippi.

May your name be glorified.}
