There are days when thinking about the World Race TERRIFIES me.

I have a habit of reading current and past racers’ blogs and some of them scare me to death.  Seriously, why would I want to give up hot water, air conditioning, my comfy bed, everything that might resemble privacy or alone time, home-cooking, and everything else that is comfortable to me?   Super long travel days in crammed-tight vehicles and washing clothes by hand once a month doesn’t sound like much fun.  And not to mention the stress of trying to pack for a year in a back pack!!  Sometimes I become overwhelmed with what is going to be my reality in just 6 short months.

 THEN I AM REMINDED OF WHY GOD HAS CALLED ME TO THIS.

Just as Jesus told Peter to get out of the boat in Matthew 14, He also asks us to take that step out in faith, into the unknown and uncomfortable. It might look different for each one of us.

He has asked me to give up my comforts and lifestyle and to

TRUST HIM.

He has called me to LOVE and SERVE His people around the world and to help fight against injustice for those who can’t fight for themselves.

And yes, I am still scared to death and I know it will be a daily struggle to see past the difficulties and into His purpose.

He deserves ALL of me, plus some!

{Isaiah 55:11-12}

So is my word that goes out from my mouth:
    It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire
    and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.
You will go out in joy and be led forth in peace;
the mountains and hills will burst into song before you,
and all the trees of the field will clap their hands.
