I expect to see the world through God’s eyes.

I expect to be completely broken over and over again.

I expect to overflow with love, peace, and joy.

I expect to experience redemption, healing, and complete forgiveness.

I expect to marvel at Christ’s beauty and grace.

I expect to cling to the Word and let His voice guide my every step.

I expect be be humbled by the people I meet and the stories I hear.

I expect to be vulnerable with my teammates.

I expect to laugh, argue, cry, and pray with my teammates.

I expect to share my story over and over again.

I expect to face challenges only God can overcome and to fully rely on His strength.

I expect to see miracles.

I expect to be filled with the Holy Spirit.

I expect to worship, dance, and sing praises to Jesus in new languages.

I expect to learn more about myself and who God has created me to be.

I expect to be uncomfortable in my living situation.

I expect to be grateful for life in America.

I expect to miss my friends and family.

I expect to wish I was back home living an easier life.

I expect to crave my creaky, but comfy, bed.

I expect to have Chick-fil-a, Starbucks, and Hershey’s Special Dark chocolate withdrawals.

I expect to want a TV so I can watch the Patriots, March Madness, and the Braves.

I expect to get tired of uncomfortable bus rides and bumpy roads.

I expect to need attitude adjustments at various points.

I expect to be hot, sweaty, and smelly every day of the week.

I expect to take risks and be bold and adventurous.

I expect for all of these expectations to be turned upside down.

I expect God to work in unimaginable ways.

I expect to encounter Jesus.

Oh, how great are God’s riches and wisdom and knowledge!

How impossible it is for us to understand his decisions and his ways!

For who can know the Lord’s thoughts?

Who knows enough to give him advice?
