Life on a mission, Jesus is our life, and we are here to have an intimate relationship with Jesus and share Him with this world. God has already taught me so much from being here in Ecuador. Now I’m looking in every moment for the opportunities to pray for people, talk with them, and to show the love of Jesus. Back at home I never had such a drive to share the Gospel and pray for people we pass by. Yes I’d pray for them, but not stop them and ask how I could pray for them. God is giving me eyes to see and desires to pursue.

“As the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return to it without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish, so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater,11so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it. 12You will go out in joy and be led forth in peace; the mountains and hills will burst into song before you, and all the trees of the field will clap their hands.” (Isaiah 55:10-12)

We held worship at the local park the last night of debrief, in front of a cathedral. We are the move of God, and it’s so evident that God was in the work of it all. We were at the park, where the night blocks are crowded with people walking around. The perfect opportunity to witness and the perfect opportunity to show the love of Jesus. We were worshiping Jesus and others passing by either stopped to listen, joined us, or stayed at a distance close enough for us to walk over and start up a conversation. A lot of people watched to see what was going on, and others were impacted by the sight of us freely worshiping and glorifying Jesus!

One of the conversations we had was with four young men. They talked about their life being hard on the streets and their choice to live a life of alcoholism and drug abuse. And they were at the park at that moment, about to get high together.  But it was all part of Jesus perfect plan for us to share Truth and life with them, literally right before they were going to do that. They had a lot of misconceptions of the Bible and Jesus, because they wanted to justify their choices. They  considered themselves Christian, knowing what scripture says they still chose to live life on their own terms. It was perfect and a divine appointment from God that we got to talk with them, because one of the guys in that group, Israela, spoke both fluent english and fluent spanish and was able to translate to his friends what we were saying. My friend Kylee and I were able to speak truth and life to them.  And it was perfect because they were talking about their lives, and my friend Kylee was able to share her testimony and what she struggled with, and how Christ brought her liberation and forgiveness. Divine appointments; all because we chose to obey the direction of the LORD, and let Him direct our steps and words that we spoke.

They thanked us for sharing with them and after praying,we  walked back to our friends who were worshiping and talking with other people at the park. I knew for certain God was definitely working in the lives of Israela and Edwardo through the conversation we had with them. Because of the four, they were the two that were asking questions and interacting with us. Though right after we left them they chose to give into smoking weed, I believe God will use the conversation we had with them to wake them up to His Truth.

The LORD has taught me a lot in the last month and tied it all together during the week of debrief. He is teaching me to slow down, and He has been showing me the opportunities I’ve been praying for!

There’s so much more I want to do now. We have decided that on days we are off from ministry, we are going to go to the park, hold worship, inviting others in and praying for people that are around.  Which is why God has placed the desires in my heart to learn Spanish, learn to play the guitar( and hopefully piano). God is so good, and His desire is for all people to come to know Him and have an intimate relationship with Him.

“Ho! Everyone who thirsts, come to the waters;  And you who have no money come, buy and eat. Come, buy wine and milk  without money and without cost. 2“Why do you spend money for what is not bread,   And your wages for what does not satisfy?   Listen carefully to Me, and eat what is good, And delight yourself in abundance.”(Isaiah 55:1-2)

The invitation is for everyone. The free gift of eternal life in Jesus Christ is for anyone and everyone  who asks for forgiveness and chose’s to follow Him.

17Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation.a The old has passed away. Behold, the new has come! 18All this is from God, who reconciled us to Himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: 19that God was reconciling the world to Himself in Christ, not counting men’s trespasses against them. And He has committed to us the message of reconciliation. 20Therefore we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were making His appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ: Be reconciled to God. 21God made Him who knew no sin to be sinb on our behalf, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God. (2 Corinthians 5:17-21)
